The IChemE Yellow Book is the standard subcontract for process plant work — chemicals, petrochemicals, pharmaceuticals, food, water treatment, energy. It runs back-to-back with the Red Book, Green Book and Burgundy Book main contracts. It is sophisticated, performance-based, and unlike anything in the wider construction industry. Its commercial administration is unforgiving on notice discipline, distinctive in its Cost + Profit valuation model, and Construction Act-aligned in its payment mechanism.
This pack is the complete commercial administration suite for a Subcontractor running a Yellow Book job. It covers the three areas of daily commercial pressure: communications and notices under cl.1.8, Variations and claims under cl.16/17/19, and payment administration under cl.41. The three toolkits share the same Set-Up Page architecture — project details, parties, Subcontract Price, Profit percentage (paragraph 14 of the Subcontract Agreement) — so the same project data drives all three files consistently. Cross-references work too: a Variation logged in the Variations & Claims Register is automatically valued at Cost + Profit using the same percentage that drives the cost build-up tab, and that value can be carried forward into the Payment Toolkit's Application for Payment build-up.
There is currently no other template provider focused on the IChemE Yellow Book. Everyone in the construction template market is on JCT or NEC. If you administer process plant subcontracts, this is the only purpose-built toolkit suite available.
